“New bike day” is extra special today because this time I own an actual new road bike.
I’ve been riding and racing on used bikes since the beginning, so it feels great to have a brand new bike. My Roubaix has been wonderful, but I’ve been itching to own a Tarmac for a couple of years, and I’m really excited that the day is finally here.
I’ve got a lot to get used to. New geometry, disc brakes, electronic shifting, and tubeless tires. That’s a lot to take in. I’m glad it’s the off season and there’s plenty of time to dial everything in before racing begins in February.
