2018 Specialized Diverge gravel bike w/ power meter and upgrades – 54cm
It’s time to let this one go and move onto the next chapter. This is my Specialized Diverge that I bought in 2018 for gravel riding. I also rode it around the neighborhood and on the Greenway with my daughter. It’s such a great do-it-all type of bike.
It is the Carbon Comp model, but has some upgrades and extras that I’ll include. The bike came with Praxis cranks, but I upgraded to Ultegra. I also swapped the 105 derailleurs for Ultegra on the front and rear, including the RX rear model with a clutch, and I swapped the 105 cassette for Ultegra last year. The Comp model in 2018 came with the Axis Elite wheelset, but I upgraded to DT Swiss R470db a couple of months ago. I also upgraded to the Power Expert saddle. Finally, I added a Specialized Power Cranks power meter in fall 2019. It’s the 105-level power meter (they were sold out of the Ultegra model and the 105 is only a few grams heavier than the non-power meter Ultegra crank so I rolled with it). I will also include the original Ultegra crank.
The bike comes with Shimano pedals, two Specialized bottle cages, a K-Edge computer mount and a SWAT box fully stocked with a multi-tool, tube, inflator, tire lever and CO2 cartridge.
I replaced the cables and housing a couple of months ago, and I had brand new Pathfinder Pro tubeless 38 tires installed this week (zero miles) along with brand new bar tape (zero miles) and a brand new Future Shock suspension unit (zero miles) because the shock had gotten a bit sticky and just wasn’t feeling right.
It’s been ridden on gravel, so there are some scratches in the obvious places. There is a sizable dent on the crankset from a small rock that flew up from someone else’s bike on a ride. Technically, it hasn’t been crashed unless you count the time I couldn’t unclip last November and fell over in The Meteor parking lot in front of about 50 people. That was embarrassing, but it only left a few small cosmetic dings on the frame and derailleur (all dings are shown in the photos). The paint shows wear on the shifters (see photos), but it’s just from my gloves. I’ve turned the bike upside down to fix a flat a couple of times on rides, so there are a few scratches on the shifters from that.
I’ve taken good care of the bike, always cleaned it after rides, and have replaced the chain and cassette twice since I bought the bike. I can’t think of anything else to say about it, but let me know if you have any questions.
I prefer cash and local pickup.
It’s a great time to get into some gravel!
